Oilers Dominate Panthers In Game 4 Set New Playoff Record

Oilers dominate Panthers in Game 4, set new playoff record

McDavid's four-point night helps Edmonton rally in Stanley Cup Final

Connor McDavid scored and notched three assists to set a new playoff record as the Edmonton Oilers crushed the Florida Panthers 8-1 on Monday, avoiding a sweep in the Stanley Cup Final.

Dylan Holloway scored twice and Stuart Skinner made 32 saves to help the Oilers force a Game 5 in Sunrise, Florida, on Wednesday.

The Oilers, who were outscored 13-3 in the first three games of the series, took an early lead and never looked back in front of a raucous home crowd at Rogers Place.

McDavid's four points give him 33 in the playoffs this year, breaking Wayne Gretzky's previous record of 31 set in 1985. The Oilers captain now has 10 goals and 23 assists in 15 playoff games this season.

Holloway's two goals were his first of the playoffs, and Skinner's 32 saves were his most in a playoff game. The Oilers also got goals from Zach Hyman, Evan Bouchard, and Jesse Puljujarvi.

The Panthers, who were looking to clinch their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, were led by Aleksander Barkov's lone goal. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 24 of 32 shots in the loss.

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final is set for Wednesday night in Sunrise, Florida. The Panthers will need to win to force a Game 6 in Edmonton on Friday.
